- Hi guys! After talking to me for half an hour at my place, my friends is hungry and wants to go home for dinner. I want to tell him to stay and talk with me for a few more minutes because I have something else important to discuss with him. Are the following sentences used correctly in this situation?

1. Could you please spend a couple of more minutes for me? I have something else important to discuss with you.
2. It would be great if you could linger here for a few more minutes? I have something else important to discuss with you.

Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

Everything else is fine, except that no question mark is needed in 2) because you have framed your preamble as a statement of opinion, not as a question.
