- Hi guys! After talking to me for half an hour at my place, my friends is hungry and wants to go home for dinner. I want to tell him to stay and talk with me for a few more minutes because I have something else important to discuss with him. Are the following sentences used correctly in this situation?
1. Could you please spend a couple of more minutes for me? I have something else important to discuss with you.
2. It would be great if you could linger here for a few more minutes? I have something else important to discuss with you.
Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Linger
Everything else is fine, except that no question mark is needed in 2) because you have framed your preamble as a statement of opinion, not as a question.Stevenloan wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 5:45 pm1. Could you please spend a coupleofmore minutesforwith me?
