 how to punctuate
Posted on: Sun Jul 18, 2010 3:02 pm
I wasn't sure which board to post this on ...
Reported today at a photo shoot with Liam Gallagher.
G gets changed, poses, cameras flash. (Ok the lights flash and the camera does its bit) G gets changed again, poses, cameras flash. G changes again, poses, cameras flash. Photographer asks, "can we have a smile".
G replies, "I am not fooking Cliff Richard".
It is this last sentance which I have trouble punctuating.

No comma needed for either connotation.

Would periods work here? G gets changed. Poses. Cameras flash. I believe there are strict rules about punctuation, but I also know authors do this to create a certain rhythm or convey a mood. I just don't know if they are thumbing their noses in blatant disregard, or if somehow, it is ok when necessary?

I think all but Erik missed the point. Nice, Tony.
