.. the judges then go on to justify their position ..Three Little Pigs book 'offends Muslims'

A children's book based on the classic tale of the Three Little Pigs has been rejected for a UK award amid fears it could offend Muslims.
Judges for the Bett Awards criticised the animated virtual book, The Three Little Cowboy Builders, saying its use of pigs as the main characters raised "cultural issues".
They also believed the book could offend builders.
.. my belief is that it is a sad day when this type of thinking is allowed to censor some books from being awarded not on their merits but on the predjudices of the judging panel .. if this line of thinking was to be employed internationally for all awards in the Arts then I can imagine that no awards would ever be made in the future .. that is unless we have catergories like ..
Best book for children in the age range 9 to 10 years old with white, employed, tetiary educated, english-speaking parents who are thin and short and who are of the New Age christian faith and live in a middle class urban suburb in a city with a population not exceeding 100 000 people.
.. then we would naturally have this same catergory for all ages of children and then by systematically changing each descriptor we would arrive at a new catergory .. now my maths isn't up to that level but I imagine that this would require quite a number of awards to be made just to cover this small area .. and for heaven's sake who hasn't been offended by a book ?? .. in many cases that is the very point that promotes positive change ..
.. anyway it is to my mind a sad day when censorship has prevailed and the racial gap has been made prominent and used to justify a personal predjudice ..
