Everyone should definitely read "The People of Paper" by Salvador Plascencia. It is a completely incredible exploration of an author's relationship with the text that he has written.

I highly recommend it to everyone here.

Welcome, and will do, animus.
The first images that come to mind are those of the paintings of the sculptors, one depicting the sculptor in the embrace of his almost-finished cararra goddess, and the other a young woodcarver being blessed as he carves the feet of a statue.

OK. Read it. Effective little twisted-paper thought-bombs.

Wow, I read the excerpt from the link that Tony h provided. I think I need to go get that book. Sounds like a good read for an English major.
