Hi, I am looking for a particular term..it's the term used when someone's surname is the same as their profession.

Ie, someone who is a carpenter with the surname of 'Carpenter'

Anyone able to assist or point me in the right direction?

"Occupational surname", "occupational byname", "metonymic occupational byname" and "metonymic byname" are all used on the genealogical websites.
