Looking for word, like kibitz, but for someone who takes unwanted actions

I'm looking for word like kibitz, but for someone who takes unwanted, usually meddlesome, actions rather than unwanted comments.

Re: Printing of place names on a global representation of the Earth.

Slate has an article about the maps and perception. http://www.slate.com/id/2249565/ Example: "People were more likely to think it was cheaper to ship things to southern destinations than northern destinations .. " There is a quote from a Harry Potter book about going south being downhill and severa...

Re: News or Newspaper

News (the plural) ... Is this a universal reference to information about current events? In my small world of Seniors in the Western US "News" is a reference to current events or past reports of current events - among other things. The quick definitions at Onelook.com seems to pretty much cover all...

Re: Words you don't usually see together.

Briefly, some few years ago, there was a game where persons would bet as to who could put the most words in Google and get only one hit.

Printing of place names on a global representation of the Earth.

On my globe of the earth if I rotate it such that Antarctica is on the top then most place names are upside down. Is this the case on globes representing the earth everywhere?

On flat maps in the Southern Hemisphere is the convention that "South" is usually expected to be at the bottom?

Re: The Negative power of Communications

Without this access to publicity, would this have happened? Back at the time of the Columbine massacre The New York Times went into newspaper archives and found a story about a man in 1924, if I recall correctly, who tossed a stick of dynamite through a school window killing several students to pro...

Re: "greenhouse gases"

I took a serious agriculture department course in greenhouse horticulture back about '66 or so. We studied gases. Water vapor and carbon dioxide were studied and demonstrated in the our greenhouse laboratory. As someone noted upthread "greenhouse effect" appeared in the literature before "greenhouse...

"Going Rogue"

We in the US have been bombarded with stories about Sarah Palin's book Going Rogue for weeks now. Today was an especially monotonous news day because the book officially came out today. I heard somewhere that the phrase "going rogue" is slang for heterosexual anal sex in the UK. Is that correct? ed ...

Re: Word or term for gift certificates, in-store credits, etc.

The gift cards and their ilk seem to me to be perhaps a bit different from the other items mentioned in the OP as they are bought and sold and there is some accounting problems encountered by the issuer. It seems commonplace for online sites to be set up to negotiate "unused" cards and "unused balan...

Re: 'No problem' instead of 'You're welcome!'

Recently came across a response to "thanks" that I recall having heard somewhere, sometime.
"Thanks"
"Not at all"

Seems to be rather rare. Just a few hits with Google.

Does anyone have a link to a brief history of capital letters?

I would just like to read a few online paragraphs, perhaps pages, about who, when and why of capital letters.
