Steve in Aus this is a paper cutter. The paper is placed in position and the black knob handle is slid across to cut the paper. It cuts less paper at a time than a guillotine.

Steve & tony, the particular abacus shown in Steve's photo is called a Soroban and is a Japanese abacus hence the 1/4 configuration. A soroban has the same configuration as a Roman abacus. The Chinese suanpan has a 2/5 configuration.

Steve & trolley, in Aus we will sometimes slip a straw into a coffee so we can tell them apart, say a double shot from a single or something like that.

These 3 can be exhaled as a progression if more then one exhale is required or just used singley.

Steve I have a bag like that and I use it as a cabin bag/luggage. The reason being that is is small enough to meet the requirements for carry-on luggage in an aeroplane.
