Re: Chair and table

We call them student chairs. They may have the added "with tablet" but not always.

Tony "tablet" is a fairly old word and has the connotation of a writing slate. Think of the modern connection to Android tablets.

Have often heard it mistakenly pronounced as winfall. For me the essential ingredient of a windfall is its unexpected nature.

Re: agitprop

I did Drama at University and in First Year we did units on agitprop theatre . This was mainly street theatre where impromptu performances of a political nature would be performed in public streets and parks and the like. The aim was to create agitation and spread propaganda. In groups we wrote some...

Thanks Bob. I did just that. Don't get up for the Dawn Service at 5:00am anymore. I do watch the march telecast and this year watched the service broadcast from France. Attendances at our Dawn Services is actually growing. Lots of children wearing Dad's medals.

Re: Flags

Ok so I am late in responding, however, this sentence does not work for me, There is a flag stuck on top of each of the two hamburgers. The meaning of this to me is that the flag is stuck on with glue; it does not penetrate the burger. I would need to say, There is a flag stuck in the top of each of...

OK OK so it's open season on Aussies. I used to go out with a Welsh girl who had 36DDs. It was a ridiculously long name. (boom boom) A Welshmen and an Englishman were rounding up sheep when one of the ewes suddenly ran into a fence and got it's head stuck. The two men ran over to the fence and one o...

I do appreciate that you Welsh gentlemen prefer to drink your ales warmish and find the cold glass in Aus a slight shock to your system. However stubby holders make sure that our beer stays co...

Steve in Aus this is a paper cutter. The paper is placed in position and the black knob handle is slid across to cut the paper. It cuts less paper at a time than a guillotine.
